Judith W. McCue is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. As a member of the Private Client Department, she focuses her practice on estate planning and trust and estate administration. Previously, she was a partner with the firm of Keck, Mahin & Cate in Chicago, where she chaired the estate planning, trusts and probate administration practice group.
Judith is a past president of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an association of distinguished trust and estate attorneys. She is a past chair of the College’s State Laws Committee and its Elder Law Committee. She is a past president of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. Judith has chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Probate Practice Committee and the Estate and Gift Tax Division of its Federal Tax Committee. She is a member of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Trust and Estate Acts of the Uniform Law Commission.
As a frequent speaker on estate planning topics, Judith has spoken at the University of Miami Philip E. Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, the University of Notre Dame Estate Planning Institute, and at programs sponsored by ALI-ABA. She has also served as a faculty member for many Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Chicago Bar Association programs.
Judith was ranked as a leading wealth management lawyer in the 2006 edition and ranked in the top tier of the 2007 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. She was also recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of trusts and estates.
Judith is a member of the Illinois bar and is affiliated with the American and Chicago Bar Associations. She is also a Vice Chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
