Juan A. Marques-Diaz is a Capital Member in the Litigation Practice Group. He chairs the firm's Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Area and the firm's Professional Development Committee.
Practice and Experience
Mr. Marques-Diaz practice includes general civil and commercial litigation, concentrating his experience in local appellate practice, constitutional, administrative, insurance, and land use litigation.
Education
Mr. Marques-Diaz obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1988 and a juris doctor from the University of Puerto Rico, Magna Cum Laude, in 1991, where he served as Associate Editor of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review. He also received a Master's degree in law from Harvard Law School in 1994. He clerked for the Hon. Jose A. Andreu-Garcia, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico and also served as Special Aide to Chief Justice Andreu-Gracia. Mr. Marques-Diaz frequently writes and lectures on alternative methods of dispute resolution.
Admissions
Mr. Marques-Diaz is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the U.S. District Court, for the District of Puerto Rico. He is also a certified mediator and arbitrator of the Bureau of Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution, Puerto Rico General Court of Justice.

Mr. Marques-Diaz is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Bar Examiners of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico since 1997. |
