Intellectual property matters form the primary focus for Joshua Jarvis, although he is also involved in securities and general corporate disputes. Joshua emphasizes trademark litigation and prosecution, as he represents clients in trademark disputes, trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, trademark policing and enforcement, and trademark prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Joshua also handles general intellectual property and patent disputes. He has done considerable work on Internet-related issues, advising clients on domain name disputes and trademark infringement. His substantial experience with Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings includes representing clients before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center.
Joshua's dispute resolution work includes insurance class action suits and SEC investigations. He also represents pro bono clients in trademark and copyright disputes, as well as contract disputes concerning artists' rights.
Before joining Foley Hoag, Joshua was a Law Clerk at the University of Pennsylvania Office of the General Counsel. He also worked two years as Director of Marketing and Research for NFI Research.
