Mr. Alper is a Partner in our Real Estate Department and Co-Chair of our firm's Environmental Law Group. Mr. Alper practices in the areas of commercial real estate, environmental and zoning matters, and all aspects of land use development.
Mr. Alper represents parties in sophisticated real estate transactions. In one notable transaction, Mr. Alper represented the seller in the sale of twenty-eight shopping centers, and acted as title and environmental counsel in the simultaneous securitized financing of forty-three shopping centers with a collateral value of $250,000,000. Mr. Alper regularly advises developers of commercial projects in connection with the acquisition (by purchase or lease) and development of property.
Mr. Alper received his B.A. in Political Science from Antioch College in 1973 and his J.D. from Boston College in 1978. He is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association, and the Abstract Club.
He was Adjunct Professor (Environmental Law and Policy) at Brandeis University in 1991 and 1993, and is a frequent lecturer and panelist for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and Suffolk University Law School Advanced Legal Studies.
Mr. Alper serves on the Editorial Board of the Massachusetts Law Review, which is published by the Massachusetts Bar Association. He has been published in a broad spectrum of legal and business publications.
Mr. Alper has served as a member of the Town of Winchester, Massachusetts, Board of Selectmen and on the Winchester Conservation Commission, and currently serves on the Winchester Zoning Board of Appeals.
