Joshua M. Farber is an associate attorney of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP and a member of the firm’s Real Estate & Banking and Business Transactions & Planning Groups.Mr. Farber’s practice includes real estate acquisition and development, zoning, business planning, commercial lending, banking, real estate workouts and title litigation for the firm’s clients. He has managed numerous commercial and residential real estate transactions representing developers and lenders.Mr. Farber has also represented clients in commercial litigation in the fields of corporate, banking and real estate law. Mr. Farber has extensive experience in collections for a Fortune 500 company and a number of regional banks. In addition, Mr. Farber has worked on a substantial number of complex business acquisitions including negotiation of the acquisition or sales agreement, as well as addressing tax, environmental, labor and other issues and the structuring of the transaction to the best interests of the firm's clients. He has also represented creditors in various bankruptcy and adversary proceedings and in complex workout scenarios. Mr. Farber is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is certified to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.After attending high school at Shady Side Academy, Mr. Farber received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and anthropology from Swarthmore College in 2002 where he was a member of both the varsity swimming and lacrosse teams.Mr. Farber received his law degree in 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During law school, Mr. Farber was a clerk for Chief Justice Cappy of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Office of Attorney General. Mr. Farber was also an administrator for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s online legal journal, Jurist, and was certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s low-income tax clinic.Mr. Farber is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. Mr. Farber is also an active alumni of Shady Side Academy as Class Agent for the Class of 1998, conducts admissions interviews for Swarthmore College and is a member of Rodef Shalom Congregation. |
