Josh B. Ofstein is a Principal focused on U.S. venture and growth capital opportunities in the hardware and systems sectors, which include materials, semiconductors, capital equipment, technical software and storage. He is based in San Francisco. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Ofstein was a Vice President in the Banc of America Securities Industrial Practice Group, where he focused on the automotive sector. Before joining Banc of America, he was with the Ziff Brothers Investments (ZBI) West Coast Technology Venture Group, where he focused on infrastructure and software investments. While at ZBI, Mr. Ofstein was actively involved with investments in NetGravity, Acuity, Real Networks, CrossRoute Software and Visto. Prior to joining ZBI, Mr. Ofstein worked in investment banking for three years at Robertson Stephens & Co. in the Semiconductor and Capital Equipment Group. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Fabless Semiconductor Association. Mr. Ofstein received a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. |
