Dr. Cappello has served as Protein Polymer Technologies’ Vice President for Research and Development Chief Technical Officer and Director Polymer Research since 1997 and as Senior Research Director-Protein Engineering since September 1988. From 1985 to 1988 Dr. Cappello was Research Director Molecular Design and Analysis at Syntro where he directed efforts in molecular modeling and design of protein polymers. He is a co-inventor of the Company's protein polymer technology. From 1982 to 1985 Dr. Cappello was an American Cancer Society Fellow at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he developed systems for bacterial and yeast expression of foreign genes and conducted postdoctoral research on the genetic characterization of cellular differentiation. Dr. Cappello holds a B.S. in Genetics from the University of California at Davis and a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. |
