Mr. O'Brien became a member of the Sandy Spring Bank executive time in July of 2007 as the regional executive for Northern Virginia. Beginning in 2008 he will be the President of the Potomac Bank Division of Sandy Spring Bank based in Fairfax Virginia. Mr. O'Brien has 20 years of commercial banking experience with an emphasis in commercial real estate. Prior to Sandy Spring he was Executive Vice President for a local regional bank responsible for the leadership of a team of 90 lending professionals and the management and growth of a $2.5 billion loan portfolio. His territory included municipalities surrounding Washington D.C. in suburban Maryland and all of Northern Virginia to Spotsylvania and Fauquier Counties. Prior to that position he was a Senior Vice President of Real Estate Finance where he handled all aspects of residential and commercial real estate and construction loans. Mr. O'Brien is a graduate of James Madison University. |
