Joseph J. LaRosa is vice president, Legal Affairs, of Schering-Plough Corporation.
He is the head of the international law group, which is responsible for providing legal counsel to Schering-Plough’s international operations relating to commercial, regulatory, licensing, litigation and other legal matters.
LaRosa joined Schering-Plough in 1993 as senior counsel. He subsequently served as senior commercial counsel, legal director, senior legal director and staff vice president of commercial law. He was named staff vice president, secretary and associate general counsel in January 2001 and was appointed to his present position in April 2004.
Prior to joining the Company, LaRosa was a partner at the firm of LaRosa & Hetzer, New York, N.Y. Previously, he was an associate attorney with the New York firms Haythe & Curley (now Torys) and Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler (now Kaye Scholer LLP).
LaRosa earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in psychology and political science from New York University, New York City. He also holds a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law, where he served as editor for the Journal of International Law and Politics.
LaRosa is a member of the American Bar Association(ABA) and the New York State Bar Association. He is vice chair of the ABA’s International Health Law Committee and vice chair of the ABA’s International Corporate Counsel Forum. LaRosa serves on the State Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of New Jersey and the Board of the NYU Law School Alumni Association. |
