Joseph H. Rossi is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Bancorp of New England, Inc. and Tolland Bank from 1996 until its acquisition by NewAlliance Bank in 2004. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Rossi served as Senior Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of Tolland Bank from 1993-1996. Mr. Rossi has extensive experience in banking, having previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Financial Federal Savings Bank of Hartford, Connecticut and Vice-President, Investments and Financial Planning at Commonwealth National Bank. He began his career as an economist with the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington. Mr. Rossi also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Hockanum Industrial Development and Venture Corporation, a non-profit organization that aids the Town of Vernon in dealing with distress industrial and commercial properties. He is also as a member The Greater Hartford YMCA Board.
Mr. Rossi joined the Board of Directors of Alliance Bancorp of New England in 1996. His term on the NewAlliance Board expires at the 2010 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
