Joe Christman serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He is also the Leader of DHR’s Aerospace, Defense & Homeland Security Sector of the Worldwide Industrial Practice. Prior to joining DHR, he was a consultant at Korn/Ferry International. He has successfully executed searches on a broad geographical basis throughout North America from the President and ‘C’ staff level to direct reporting functions, program managers and highly specified technology leadership positions in integrated defense systems, satellite (space) hardware and software, C4ISR, big systems engineering & design, aviation, avionics, chemicals, professional services and information management industries. He entered the field of executive search with LAI Worldwide. There he began to build his executive search practice in Aerospace & Defense. Before entering the executive search field, Lieutenant Commander Christman was a seasoned naval aviator. During his years of active duty, he deployed aviation anti-submarine warfare helicopters (ASW) aboard four different aircraft carriers in support of operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, Northern/Western Pacific, North Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf. With over 3000 total flight hours and four deployments, LCDR Mr. Christman retired from active duty in 1998. Mr. Christman’s operations-management experience covers the better part of two decades and under girds both his detailed industry knowledge and his ability to recruit vertically, filling every position for a given undertaking or location with an eye to interstitial logistics. He received his BA degree from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He also earned an MBA from National University in San Diego, California. Additionally, he attended courses offered by Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, as well as Senior Leadership, Functional Test Pilot and Aviation Maintenance Officer schools. He is a member of the U.S. Navy League, a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, The Space Foundation, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Naval Helicopter Association, California Space Authority, The Retired Officers Association and Association of Executive Search Consultants. |
