Joseph E. Scherger, M.D., M.P.H, Home Health Care Visionary, founding Dean of the University of Florida Medical School and Clinical Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Scherger has received numerous awards, including Outstanding Clinical Instructor in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Davis. He was chosen as Family Physician of the Year by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the California Academy of Family Physicians. In 1986, he served as President of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Dr. Scherger was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. He received the Thomas W. Johnson Award for Family Practice Education from the American Academy of Family Physicians. |
