Mr. Chipman served as Chief Executive Officer and as a founding director on the board of Lanier National Bank, Gainesville from 1988 until 2000, when Lanier National Bank was acquired by Century South/BB&T. Mr. Chipman retired in April 2002, and purchased a second home in Midtown Atlanta. Mr. Chipman was a senior executive at the Citizens Bank of Gainesville from 1975 until 1988. Prior to that, he also served as a bank examiner with the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance for four years. Mr. Chipman attended Gainesville College and graduated from West Georgia College with a degree in Economics and Business Administration and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Chipman remains active in the Gainesville banking community. |
