Dr. Boyer joined Inspire in October 2000. He leads ongoing programs in the molecular pharmacology department. He works closely with the Vice President of Research and Preclinical Development in setting the vision for future programs targeted at identifying novel product candidates. Dr. Boyer has published extensively in the field of P2Y receptors and has worked closely with the founding scientists of Inspire. Before joining Inspire, Dr. Boyer collaborated with the company on various research projects through sponsored research agreements in his role as research assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He serves as a member of the NC-IUPHAR subcommittee on P2Y receptors, and currently holds a position as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Boyer earned his Ph.D. and Master's in biochemistry from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico. |
