José Alberto Vélez Cadavid was born in 1950. He assumed the Presidency of Inversiones Argos S.A. (the former Compañía de Cementos Argos S.A.) in November 2003 and the Presidency of Cementos Argos S.A. (the former Cementos del Caribe S.A.) in 2005. Since 1984, he has held several managerial positions at Suramericana de Seguros S.A., including Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Vice President of Investments, Vice President of Enterprise Development and President of Inversura S.A. and of Suramericana de Seguros S.A.
Mr. Vélez Cadavid is also member of the boards of directors of Suramericana de Inversiones S.A., Grupo Nacional de Chocolates S.A., Calcetines Cristal S.A. and Almacenes Exito S.A. |
