Dr.Jorge Porras joined eStudySite as principal investigator in 2006. He graduated from the University of Texas-El Paso then earned his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his Psychiatry Residency Training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix. After postgraduate medical study in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego he became involved in the care of older patients through the VA Healthcare System as Assistant Clinical Professor. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with Additional Certification in Geriatric Psychiatry Subspecialty. Past medical posts include Sub-Investigator for California Clinical Trials; Psychiatrist at North Coastal Mental Health Clinic and Emergency Psychiatrist at the San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital. His clinical trials experiences include those in patients with Sleep Disorders; Mood Disorders; Schizophrenia/Psychotic Disorders; Anxiety Disorders and Neurological Disorders. He is bilingual with interests in the area of Latino Issues in Mental Health. (California Medical License #C50395). |
