Jorge Mas has been our chairman of the board of directors since January 1998 and a director since March 1994. From March 1994 to October 1999, Mr. Mas was our chief executive officer. Mr. Mas has been chairman of the board of the Cuban American National Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, since July 1999. Mr. Mas is executive director of the Mas Family Foundation, which currently manages a $5 million endowment funded by the Mas family that supports a vast array of charitable organizations. Mr. Mas has served as a member of the University of Miami President’s Council and of Nova Southeastern University’s board of trustees. His charitable work and contributions include children’s and religious charities including Junior Achievement, Legatus and his local parish as well as the Liga Contra el Cancer, United Way, and Miami Children’s Hospital. Mr. Mas was recently honored to receive the Simon Wiesenthal’s Center National Community Service Award for his contribution toward freedom |
