Mr. Jorge Rodriguez joined the Celera Partners Advisory Board in the dual capacity of Telecommunications Industry advisor and Hispanic Specialty Practice Advisor. Jorge is a high-tech business leader with broad senior level general management experience in Satellite, Broadband, Internet, Wireless, and Voice/Data Communications. Jorge was born in Cuba and raised in the United States. Jorge was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of Embrapar, the holding company of Embratel, Brazil’s premier telecommunications service provider. As CEO, Jorge was responsible for 10+ subsidiaries, offering international local, long-distance and wireless voice products, Internet and data services, and satellite operations across Brazil and throughout six countries across the Americas. Celera Partners draws on Jorge’s proven track record of success managing large domestic and international advanced technology companies. Throughout his career, Mr. Rodriguez has excelled at anticipating and capitalizing on technology advances and market opportunities to launch new ventures, turnaround underperforming businesses and enhance market share for global companies. Jorge’s insights as a successful CEO in the telecom industry and his experience building and leading companies in the USA, Mexico and Brazil will be invaluable to the firm’s Technology Practice and Hispanic Specialty Practice. Jorge is fluent in English, Spanish and Portguese. Prior to joining Embratel, he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of MCI's Global Ventures and Alliances group. Prior to that, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Avantel, the Mexican joint venture between MCI and Grupo Financiero Banamex-Accival. Mr. Rodriguez joined MCI in 1979 and held positions in marketing analysis, pricing and product management and development in MCI's Business and Consumer Markets groups.
