Jonathan joined Carlson Marketing as Senior Vice President, EMEA and Managing Director, UK in November 2006. Prior to joining Carlson Marketing, Jonathan was CEO of WPP’s RMG Connect. There he completed the merger of the agency with promotional agency Black Cat, leading it to win significantly increased business with HSBC, Vodafone and Shell. New business wins from Nestle, Mazda, Financial Times, A1GP, DMA and WeightWatchers were followed by several industry awards for marketing effectiveness and creativity. This culminated in the agency achieving its highest ever rankings in the Precision Marketing Agency Reputation Survey and Creative Awards League tables. Jonathan came to RMG Connect from Claydon Heeley where he was first Head of Direct Marketing and later Managing Director for three years until 2004; that was the same year Claydon Heeley was named Campaign magazine’s Agency of the Year. While at the agency he worked on successful launches for T-Mobile, ING Direct, PlayStation 2, Credit Suisse and Sector Skills Development Agency and helped Bradford & Bingley achieve market leading mortgage retention rates. Before Claydon Heeley, Jonathan was at WWAV Rapp Collins where he worked with Marks & Spencer Financial Services on their first DRTV activity with its best recruitment results ever, helped RSPB recruit their millionth member and tripled acquisition response for English Heritage. Jonathan gained grounding in direct marketing at the start of his career by spending four years as a fundraiser for medical and housing charities. He lives with his wife and four children in Surrey and spends his spare time with his family, watching Reading FC or playing his drum kit (badly). |
