Dr. Rich Adachi is a Professor within the Department of Medicine at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. He is a practicing rheumatologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Canada. Dr. Adachi is a member of the Osteoporosis Society of Canada and the International Osteoporosis Foundation. Dr. Adachi has conducted many clinical trials and has published extensively on a wide variety of therapies for the prevention and treatment of corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis. Dr. Adachi has been involved in the development of outcome instruments such as bone density measurements by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry, by ultrasound, by peripheral quantitative x-ray absorptiometry and more recently by MRI. He has also helped to develop a quality of life instrument for those with osteoporosis as well as an economic instrument. His most recent endeavors are in the field of osteoarthritis. |
