Dr. Lord joined the board of directors of NeuroMetrix in January 2005. Dr. Lord has been at Humana since 2000 and is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, with responsibility for designing and leading innovative health plan products and processes that encourage and enable people to successfully navigate the health care system.
A board-certified forensic pathologist, Dr. Lord has 21 years experience in medical leadership. Dr. Lord came to Humana from Health Dialog, a Boston-based Internet provider of health information to over 5 million people in the United States. Prior to Health Dialog, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the American Hospital Association (AHA) in Washington, D.C., Executive Vice President of Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland, and Executive Vice President of Sun Health in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Lord’s vision, leadership and talent for change management have led to appointments to several national boards. As President of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) from 2001-2002, he led the organization to restructure its operations, significantly increase its membership and revenues, and establish branches in Europe, Asia, and Australia. Also in 2002, Dr. Lord began a three-year term on the National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality. |
