Jonathan S. Kusko concentrates in federal, state and foreign taxation, particularly with respect to hedge funds and investment companies. He has been involved in the formation of taxable and tax-exempt mutual funds, as well as U.S. and foreign hedge funds having a variety of investment activities. He has advised clients on the tax implications of investing in stocks, commodities, foreign currencies and other financial products.
Mr. Kusko has also advised closely-held U.S. and foreign companies on the tax aspects of conducting operations outside the U.S. and within the U.S., respectively, drawing on his extensive knowledge of the statutory provisions governing controlled foreign corporations, passive foreign investment companies and foreign personal holding companies.
