Jonathan P. Whitworth was named Senior Vice President and Head of the U.S. Flag Strategic Business Unit located in Tampa Florida in November 2006. He has oversight of commercial operations and business development activities. Mr. Whitworth joined OSG as part of the acquisition of Maritrans in November 2006 where he was CEO and President.
Mr. Whitworth a licensed U.S. Coast Guard officer began his maritime career sailing as an officer aboard U.S. Flag tankers operating in the international product and chemical trade from 1989 to 1994. He came ashore in 1994 to join SeaRiver Maritime Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation where he held numerous positions including the head of Business Development. Following this position Mr. Whitworth was Managing Director of Teekay Shipping (USA) Inc. for four years with responsibility for business development customer relations and sales for North and South America. He then joined Maritrans in 2004.
Mr. Whitworth holds a United States Coast Guard Unlimited Chief Mate’s License a bachelor of science degree in marine transportation from Texas A&M University at Galveston and an MBA from the University of North Texas. He is a board member of The American Petroleum Institute. |
