Jonathan M. Kemper is Vice Chairman of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Commerce Bank, Kansas City. In 1982, he joined Commerce as Vice President of Commerce Bank, Kansas City and in 1991 was elected Vice Chairman of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Kemper has overall responsibility for the Kansas City region and serves on the Executive Committee of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Kemper, a 1975 graduate of Harvard University, earned an MBA in 1979 from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
Kemper is a director of Tower Properties and a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Board of Trustees. He is an advisory board member for the Kansas City Center for Design Education and Research, the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, and the Kansas City Chapter of Young Presidents’ Organization. Additionally, Kemper is the Co-Chair of the Missouri Lewis & Clark Commission appointed by the Governor. |
