Dr. Lewis has been a Director since June 2007. Dr. Lewis is Chief Executive Officer of ZIOPHARM Oncology, Inc. He has held leadership positions at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine and Cornell University Medical School. He was Chief Medical Officer of Antigenics, Inc. from 2000 to 2003. Dr. Lewis earned his MB.B.Ch. from Witwatersrand University School of Medicine (Johannesburg, South Africa) and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Witwatersrand and Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis conducted his Surgical Residency at Johannesburg General Hospital, Witwatersrand University School of Medicine and at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lewis was a Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery and Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University School of Medicine, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Immunology and Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. |
