Michael is the president, CEO of RLI Corp. which, through regional offices, writes niche specialty commercial property and liability business throughout wholesale brokers, personal and small business coverages through retail agents, and miscellaneous surety bonds through a nationwide network of retail agents. Michael is the executive vice president of RLI Corp., as well as the chairman of the board and CEO of the company's principal insurance subsidiaries.
A Certified Public Accountant, Michael joined RLI in 1982 as chief accountant and became controller in 1984. He was elected chief financial officer in 1985 and four years later assumed additional staff services responsibilities. In 1992, Michael was promoted to executive vice president and was elected president, COO of RLI Insurance Group effective January 1994. He was elected to the RLI Corp. board of directors in March of 1997.
Before joining RLI, Michael was associated with Coopers & Lybrand.
Michael is a graduate of Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association, and the National Association of Independent Insurers Federal and State Tax Committee. |
