Jonathan D. Levy joined the firm in 1998 and is a partner in the firm’s real estate department. Mr. Levy specializes in commercial real estate transactions, including financings on behalf of borrowers and lenders as well as acquisitions and dispositions. As part of this practice, Mr. Levy has represented developers and institutional investors in connection with the negotiation of complex joint venture agreements. In addition, he has significant experience in retail and commercial leasing, primarily on behalf of landlords.
The clients he has represented include: JMB Realty Corporation, Walton Street Capital, L.L.C., Urban Retail Development Co., The Common Fund for Non-profit Organizations, Waterton Associates, L.L.C., The RREEF Funds and Builders Bank.
Mr. Levy received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1991. In 1986, he received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan, where he majored in economics.
Mr. Levy has been a member of the real estate section of the State Bar of Illinois since his admission in 1991.
