As vice president of retail finance, Jon Johnson is responsible for True Value Company’s credit services, True Value Company Acceptance Company (loan operation), credit card operations, retailer accounting, cash application and accounts receivable departments.
Johnson originally joined Cotter & Company, the forerunner of True Value Company, in 1995 as the corporate manager of credit and financial services. Prior to True Value Company, he was employed from 1990 to 1995 as a supervisory accountant for Resolution Trust Corporation. From 1973 to 1990 he worked in financial management at General Electric Company and also served as an instructor in its Financial Management Program. Johnson served in the U.S. Army for three years including combat duty in the Republic of Vietnam.
Johnson attended Georgia Institute of Technology and later Georgia State University, where he received a bachelor's of science with honors in physics/mathematics. He also earned his M.B.A., with honors, from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. During his career, Johnson has been the recipient of a variety of scholastic, military and professional awards. Johnson is a member of both the National Retail Federation and the National Association of Credit Management. |
