Jon T. Elsasser is senior vice president and chief information officer. Mr. Elsasser joined the company in 1978 as a systems analyst in Canton. He held subsequent positions of section manager - bearing operations systems, manager - bearing distribution center, assistant general manager - bearings - Bucyrus district, director-president - Timken do Brasil and director - 21st century business project - bearings. In 1993, he was named deputy managing director - bearings - Europe, Africa and West Asia in Colmar, France. Mr. Elsasser was elected managing director - bearings - Europe, Africa and West Asia in 1995 and, in 1996, vice president - bearings - Europe, Africa and West Asia. In 1997, he returned to Canton as group vice president - bearings - rail, Europe, Africa and West Asia. Mr. Elsasser was named senior vice president corporate development in 2000 and senior vice president e-business & corporate planning in 2003. He was named to his current position in 2003.
Mr. Elsasser graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The College of William and Mary with a bachelor’s degree in economics and from Harvard University with a master’s degree in business administration. At Harvard, Mr. Elsasser was named a Baker Scholar, which is a distinction awarded to the top 5 percent of each graduating class. |
