Jon S. Saxe was elected a director in January 2000, and his current term as director will expire at the annual meeting of stockholders to be held in 2007. He also serves as a director of Protein Design Labs, Inc. of which he served as President from 1995 to 1999. In addition, he is a director of Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc., ID Biomedical Corporation, Insite Vision, SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Durect Corporation and several private companies. Prior to 1995, Mr. Saxe served as a Principal of Saxe Associates, the President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Synergen, Inc. and held various positions including Vice President of Licensing and Corporate Development and Head of the Patent Law Department for Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc. Mr. Saxe received a B.S. Ch.E. degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, a J.D. degree from George Washington University School of Law and an L.L.M. degree from New York University School of Law. |
