Jon A. Payne, a shareholder, joined Carney Badley Spellman in 1998. Mr. Payne focuses on complex civil litigation, commercial litigation, county and municipality law, and civil appellate practice. His practice also includes defending lawsuits filed by jail inmates against counties, jails and correction officers. After graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996, Mr. Payne began his legal practice as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the King County Prosecutor's Office. His trial experience includes numerous bench and jury trials in District and Superior Court. He has also argued before Divisions I and II of the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Payne was named a Rising Star by Washington Law and Politics magazine for 2005. |
