J. Lawson Johnston is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Civil Liability, Railroad Litigation, Occupational Disease, Workers' Compensation, and Administrative Law. Mr. Johnston is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Johnston served as Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and presided over the first Tort Division for the Commonwealth in Western Pennsylvania after sovereign immunity was abolished. Mr. Johnston graduated from Temple University in 1968 with a B.A. He received his J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1974. Mr. Johnston is a frequent lecturer on civil litigation, occupational disease, and administrative law matters. He has been named in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America. |
