John Thornton joined AlterPoint’s Board of Directors in May of 2002. Mr. Thornton has been with Austin Ventures since 1991 and focuses on the firm’s Software investment area. Previously, Mr. Thornton was with McKinsey & Co., where he served clients in the U.S. and Europe. He has worked with companies such as Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW), Dazel (NYSE: HP), Metasolv (NASDAQ: MSLV), Mission Critical (NASDAQ: NTIQ), Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN), Motive, Pentasafe (NASDAQ: NTIQ), and Waveset (NASDAQ: SUNW). Mr. Thornton received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and his BA summa cum laude from Trinity University, where he graduated first in his class. He is a founding board member of the Austin Entrepreneur’s Foundation and a trustee of Trinity University and the Austin Museum of Art. |
