John Stampes joined Mohr Partners’ Project Management team, bringing 35 years of construction industry experience along with 20+ years specializing in serving tenants in the design and construction process. John’s breadth of experience enables him to provide a cost efficient package of services to Mohr’s clients. John began his career in the construction industry while attending The University of Texasat Austin, where he earned his BBA in Marketing and Accounting. In 1975, John joined Palmer Donavin, a Columbus, Ohio based building materials distributor where he was responsible for marketing, product selection, inventory, and training contractors in the selling/installation of the company products. He was promoted to VP and Operations Manager in Lima, Ohio where he was responsible for a 500,000 sf distribution warehouse. Following his tenure at Palmer Donavin, John was hired by the Staubach Company to develop a new service of controlling the construction process for the firm’s real estate clients. John focused on listening to his clients, being their advocate, and by doing so quickly developed a solid reputation in the real estate industry by never missing a completion date. John’s role began to expand into a project management role which included assisting clients in the selection of design consultants, information technology consultants and vendors, furniture vendors and relocation management. His department managed 190 projects with project budgets exceeding $100 million. In 1989, Mr. Stampes joined The Amend Group as Senior Vice President to continue this high level of project management and expand the offering even further. Many clients preferred a single point of accountability for which he offered a consistent team that included design consultants, project management and general contracting. For repeat clients it eliminated the need to re-train a new team for each project, gave them a single point of contact and reduced costs by consolidating services and overhead. With the addition of ground up projects, the volume grew to $600 million in construction value. John also designed an internet-based project management system that allowed faster and more accurate project communication, reducing errors and continued the pursuit of reducing the time and cost of projects. John Stampes brings to Mohr Partners his extensive experience at problem solving in the very complex real estate project management environment.
