John M. Staines is Senior Vice President of Human Resources for KB Home. Staines has overall responsibility for succession management, strategic recruiting, engaging and retaining of KB Home’s nationwide workforce, along with overseeing compensation and benefits, training, labor relations, employee communications, KB University and long-term people strategies and policies across every one of the markets in which KB Home does business.
During his 20-year career in business and human resources leadership, Staines has held prominent positions with a number of major corporations known as some of the best places to work in America. These include Vice President of People Development Worldwide for PepsiCo’s $3.5 billion dollar restaurant business, Vice President of HR for worldwide operations and corporate staff function for Mattel, Inc., as well as head of human resources for The Gap’s $7 billion Global Supply Chain business in the U.S., U.K., Turkey, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea, and most recently Senior Vice President of Human Resources for DaVita, Inc.
Staines graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and received his MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor two years later. He also earned an International Baccalaureate from United World College of Southeast Asia, Singapore. |
