As Vice President of Completions and Modifications sales, John Slieter provides leadership for the Sales and Design teams in Battle Creek, MI, and Lincoln, NE, with responsibility for avionics installations, paint and interior completions sales and design.
John began his career in aviation in 1975 with an Associates degree in Avionics from Alexandria Technical College. He worked several small avionics shops in Minnesota and South Dakota then later moved to the northern slopes of Alaska to work for the University of Alaska as an electronics technician. After coming back to the lower 48, John became the Manager of the avionics shop for Raytheon Aircraft Services in Denver.
In 1984, John was hired by Duncan Aviation to coordinate the growing avionics send-in repair business. Shortly after arriving in Lincoln, he was asked to manage the Avionics Installations shop, where he spent the next six years. John moved to Avionics Sales in 1990 and then in 1995 became Vice President of the Completions & Modifications Shops.
In 2000, John assumed the newly created position of Vice President of Business Development and Contracts then returned to sales in 2002 to head up the Completions and Modifications area in his current position.
While at Duncan Aviation, John completed his Bachelors & Masters Degrees in Management and Leadership. This has served him well as a member of Duncan Aviation’s Senior Management Team.
John and his wife, Jean, are active in the community. Jean is Director of Special Ed for Malcom School District. Both have served on the board of directors for local nonprofit organizations, including Special Olympics Nebraska and Kids First.
Along with their three children, John and Jean enjoy an active life of biking, hiking and snow skiing. |
