John joined McDonough Holland & Allen’s Construction Practice Group in 2007. His practice focuses on providing litigation and counseling services to owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties and public entities in all aspects of construction law. Previously with a Bay Area law firm, John’s background encompasses general construction law and complex business litigation. He brings substantial arbitration, trial and appellate experience and has been successful in resolving lawsuits prior to trial through alternative dispute resolution.
Prior Experience
Represented EIFS supplier and contractor in multi-million dollar binding arbitration involving alleged construction defects.
Successfully represented an insurance carrier at the trial of an insurance coverage dispute related to the construction of a dialysis center in San Mateo County. The plaintiff was seeking in excess of $2.3 million from the carrier as a result of a judgment entered in the underlying construction defect action.
Represented international manufacturer in appealing a California superior court’s finding that jurisdiction was proper.
