Dr. Savarese joined Montreux Equity Partners in 2003 and is a Board Member or Board Observer for several Montreux Portfolio portfolio companies, including KFx Medical, Verus Pharmaceuticals, Avera Pharmaceuticals, Bayhill Therapeutics, and Novalar Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Montreux, Dr. Savarese served as Director of Business Development and Marketing at NeurogesX, Inc., a Montreux portfolio company. Prior to joining NeurogesX, Dr. Savarese worked in the Life Sciences Investment Banking divisions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch. Dr. Savarese started his career in the venture industry as a consultant to private equity firms and early stage companies, having performed commercial and technical analyses of investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. His clinical background in General and Orthopedic Surgery was performed at the Cornell University Medical College and The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Savarese has held research positions in molecular oncology and cell biology at both Duke University Medical Center and Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Savarese received his Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He holds a B.A. in English from the College of the Holy Cross. |
