John Reiersen is a Senior Executive Vice President of the Robert Plan and Vice Chairman of the Eagle Insurance Company Group. Mr. Reiersen is also President and CEO of Commercial Mutual Insurance Company. He serves on the Board of Directors of Commercial Mutual, as well as, the Board of the seven insurers comprising the Eagle Group. His principal duties at the Robert Plan include government and legislative affairs, regulatory compliance, quality control, corporate compliance, residual market relations, and product development.
John joined the Robert Plan in 1989 after a 25 year career at the New York State Insurance Department. He ended his career at the Department as Chief Examiner in the Property and Casualty Insurance Bureau. John holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College and holds the following professional designations: Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) and Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE).
John is currently on the Board of Directors of the Motor Vehicle Indemnification Corporation, the New York Auto Theft and Fraud Prevention Board, the New York Insurance Association and the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society Foundation. He chairs the New York Auto Insurance Plan Territorial and Takeout Committee and also serves as Chairman of the New York Optional No-Fault and SUM Arbitration Committees. John also chairs the Automobile Insurance Committee of the National Association of Mutual Insurers.
John has previously served as Chairman of the Governing Committee of the New York Auto Insurance Plan, Chairman of the Motor Vehicle Accident Indemnification Corporation and as Chairman of the New York Insurance Association. He has served as a National Governor and as President of the Long Island Chapter for the Society of CPCU. John was honored by the New York Council of Insurance Brokers as Insurance Man of the Year in 1989, and by the Tri County Independent Agents Association as Insurance Man of the year in 2003. In 1992, John Received the President's Award from the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society. |
