As Senior Vice President for Department of Defense and Global Supply Chain Logistics, Major General John Phillips, (U.S. Air Force, retired), focuses on supply-chain management issues for federal-sector clients and serves as Enterra's senior contact with the Department of Defense Gen. Phillips brings to Enterra more than 30 years of comprehensive acquisition, aviation, information technology (IT), logistics, and leadership experience In addition to his distinguished military career, he served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics), overseeing an organization of 850,000 military and civilian personnel with a budget of $114 billion. In this capacity he established a major, precedent-setting outsourcing and privatization program for the Federal government. He also served as Vice President of Government Services for Honeywell, where he oversaw major Federal-sector engagements. He was successful in spearheading the capture of a $1.7 billion satellite network control contract, the largest single aftermarket contract in Honeywell's history. He left Honeywell to become Vice President of the Government Solutions Group at Home Depot. The Government Solutions Group, which he formed, propelled Home Depot into the Federal sector, growing to over $100 million in the first 12 months of operations. Gen. Phillips also founded Phillips Defense Consultants, which addressed defense operations ranging from IT to supply chain management, acquisition, and Network Centric Warfare. Phillips Defense Consultants was acquired by Enterra Solutions in the spring of 2006. Gen. Phillips served for more than 27 years in the United States Air Force. A fighter pilot with over 3,000 flying hours, 300 of those in combat, he was Commander, McClellan AFB, California. Gen. Phillips holds a B.S. degree in biology and chemistry from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas, and an M.S. degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Gen. Phillips is the recipient of over 250 awards and decorations, and was honored with Vice President Al Gore's Hammer Award in 1999. |
