John Perpich, who has served as a full-time scout for the Thrashers since the 1999-2000 Inaugural Season, adds a wealth of hockey experience to the scouting staff After serving as an amateur scout for the past six seasons, Perpich enters his first season as a professional scout with the organization He will now handle advance scouting of the Thrashers' NHL opponents as well as assisting in the evaluation of talent in the American Hockey League Perpich spent four years with the Los Angeles Kings organization prior to joining the Thrashers in 1998 He served as an assistant coach at the NHL level with the Washington Capitals and the Los Angeles Kings, and also coached the Kings minor league prospects from 1996-98 Perpich coached at Ferris State from 1986-90, and at St. Cloud State from 1984-86 He played hockey for the University of Minnesota, where he completed his undergraduate studies in physical education, and received a master of arts degree with an emphasis in motor learning Perpich and his wife, Kendra, reside in Bloomington, Minn |
