John Payne is Central Division President of Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. In this role he oversees the operations of the company’s nine casino properties in Louisiana Indiana and Mississippi.
Payne joined Harrah’s in 1995 as a President’s Associate then subsequently held Assistant General Manager positions at Harrah’s Prairie Band in Mayetta Kan. and at the company’s former East Chicago property. In March 2000 he was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s former property in Lake Charles La. and two years later he assumed the same role at Harrah’s New Orleans. He was promoted to Gulf Coast Regional President in 2005 before becoming Atlantic City Regional President later in the year.
Payne is active in several charitable civic and community organizations including the Jewish Community Center of Atlantic County Shore Memorial Hospital the Casino Association of New Jersey the New Orleans Metropolitan Visitors and Convention Bureau the New Orleans Tourist Marketing Corporation and the Audubon Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University and a master’s degree in business finance and marketing from Northwestern University. |
