John Heinlein joined Transmeta in June 1997. In his ten-year tenure he has held a wide range of management posts including Vice President of Software, Sr. Director of Technology Alliances, Sr. Director of Customer Quality Engineering, Director of Strategic Partner Initiatives, Manager of CMS Reliability, as well as other engineering roles in Software and Verification. Since 2000 he has been extensively involved in Transmeta's business with Asian computer, consumer electronics and semiconductor customers, most recently with a focus on Japan, which included a full-time assignment to Tokyo for 4 months in the summer of 2006. Prior to joining Transmeta, Dr. Heinlein held consulting positions at Digital Equipment Corporation's Western Research Laboratory, Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and Intel Corporation. Dr. Heinlein holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, both in Electrical Engineering, and a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. |
