For the past 20 years, John has specialized in the wine industry, working with wineries throughout California and Oregon as a senior line manager, strategic and branding consultant and turnaround advisor. He has over 30 years of experience in marketing and sales management, strategic planning and project management, consulting, market research, creditor advisory analysis and negotiation, in a broad range of industries. John brings packaged goods marketing and professional management consulting expertise honed during his days at McKinsey & Co. to all his assignments. Professional Experience Prior to BBK, John was a Director of a national, boutique interim management firm that concentrated on advising middle market companies owned by financial sponsors. Recently, John represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Legacy Group bankruptcy, one of the largest bankruptcies ever in the wine industry. His wine industry and strategic expertise was invaluable in framing the business analysis and identifying opportunities for creditors and lenders alike. The subsequent 363 sale of assets far exceeded ingoing expectations of all creditors. John's wine industry experience includes senior sales and marketing management positions at Rutherford Hill and affiliated brands, Louis Martini, Haywood, Robert Stemmler and Clos Pegase brands among many others. He has provided branding and strategic advisory services to Merryvale and Monterra, Foley and LinnCourt, Beaulieu, Beringer, Napa Ridge, Meridian, Robert Mondavi, Sutter Home, Gallo, Champagne Mumm and many others. John's packaged goods experience includes Procter & Gamble, General Foods and Clorox. At McKinsey & Company, as a management consultant he participated in a variety of assignments including the redirection of marketing strategy for a $500 Million instrument manufacturer, improving the customer base of a major grocery wholesaler, restructuring the sales force of a leading frozen foods processor, and improving profits for a major dairy processor.
