John is responsible for product definition and development of Beachhead’s Lost Data Destruction product. With over 15 years of product management and marketing experience in the computing industry, John’s responsibilities include ensuring the creation of products that deliver upon Beachhead’s vision of data protection through destruction. Before becoming vice president of product development, John was director of product management at OmniSky Corporation, one of the pioneers in the wireless data applications, software and services sectors. John oversaw the development of OmniSky’s award-winning mail and location-based services for Palm and PocketPC handhelds. With revenues of nearly $43 million, the company grew to over 450 employees worldwide and 40,000 subscribers within the first year after its initial public offering. The company was sold to Earthlink in January 2002. Prior to joining Beachhead, John held senior positions at Adobe Systems, Metricom and Apple Computer, where he was a senior product manager responsible several award-winning products, including At Ease for Workgroups, Apple Network Assistant, AppleShare IP and the Apple Network Administrator Toolkit. In recognition of his contribution to the company as a product manager, John received Apple’s prestigous CEO Recognition award. Before transitioning into product management, John was a senior product marketing manager for Apple’s Imaging division and later for Apple’s Server division. John served 7 years in the Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant, and is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. John holds a bachelor’s degree in ceramic engineering from the University of Washington with an emphasis in mathematics and computer science. |
