John Guedry is executive vice president and manager of City National’s Nevada region. In this capacity, he is the bank’s senior banking executive for community and civic activities.
Mr. Guedry, who is a member of City National’s Executive Committee, has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including seven years with Business Bank of Nevada, of which he served as president and chief executive officer. City National acquired Business Bank in 2007.
Previously, Mr. Guedry worked for Community Bank of Nevada as director of sales and marketing, and retail banking for approximately two years. From 1990 to 1996, he worked for Nevada Title Company as senior vice president and director of sales. He also founded Real Estate Investment Services, a mortgage brokerage company he owned and operated from 1993 until 1998. From 1984 to 1990, he worked for Valley Bank of Nevada as senior vice president and director of sales. Mr. Guedry also worked in the banking industry in northern California for several years.
City National has four branches in the Las Vegas area, one in Carson City, one in Minden/Gardnerville, one in Reno and one in North Las Vegas, with plans to open an additional branch in the state in the near future.
Active in a number of civic and community endeavors, Mr. Guedry is a board member of the Women's Development Center and the Nevada Bankers Association, of which he is immediate past chairman. His other memberships include the Nevada Development Authority, Board of Advisors for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
Mr. Guedry also has served as chairman of Leadership Las Vegas and corporate recruitment chairman for the 2000 Walk to Cure Diabetes event, and was a member of Leadership Las Vegas Council, UNLV President’s Association and American Heart Association, Las Vegas Chapter.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. Guedry moved to Las Vegas with his family in 1974. He graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He and his wife Debra have two daughters, Jennifer and Jaclyn, who all live in Las Vegas.
