John started his construction career with the Downes organization as a carpenter
apprentice in 1980. After completing 4 years of training, he became a journeyman
carpenter in 1984. In 1984, he was selected Carpenter of the Year at the Annual
Carpenter’s Competition. He subsequently graduated from the Associated General
Contractors School of Supervisory Training Program where he completed ten courses
over three years.
Over the last twenty years, John has served as carpenter foreman and superintendent.
