As senior vice president and general counsel for Visteon, John Donofrio is responsible for the company’s global legal activities. Donofrio also is an elected corporate officer. Donofrio joined Visteon in 2005, from Honeywell, where he was vice president and general counsel of Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix since 2000. He joined Honeywell in 1996 as associate general counsel. After two years in this role, he was promoted to deputy general counsel, working extensively on behalf of the company’s automotive business. Before joining Honeywell, Donofrio spent seven years with the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, D.C., and New York, the last three as partner. In this role, he represented major corporate clients worldwide and worked extensively with vehicle manufacturers. He began his career as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the federal circuit. Donofrio is the author of numerous legal publications and has served as an adjunct professor at the Seton Hall University School of Law. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and earned a law degree and a master’s degree in law from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
