John Abbott was named Food Service Group Vice President in December 2006. Abbott brings 25 years of managerial, marketing and engineering experience in diverse manufacturing businesses. He most recently served for 18 years in various executive positions for Pentair Incorporated; a Minnesota-based diversified operating company. His most recent position was as president of the Pentair Filtration Group, a $500 million group of companies within Pentair with over 2,000 employees. During his two years in this position Abbott integrated several acquired companies, establishing organic growth and cost improvement initiatives. Prior to heading up the Filtration Group John was President of Pentair Electronic Packaging, a group of manufacturing companies serving the electronics industry. He also served as President of Schroff North America, and began his Pentair career at Hoffman Enclosures where he was Vice President of Engineering. He began his career in marketing at McQuay Incorporated, a manufacturer of HVAC equipment. Abbott holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the College of St. Thomas in Minnesota. |
