John W. Smuda joined iQVP in August 2003 as a Managing Director.
He has been the Controller for IVAST, Inc., a MPEG-4 software company in California. Prior to that Mr. Smuda served as a Director of Finance/Controller for Diadexus, Inc., Netobjects, Inc., RHI Management Resources, Inc. and Digital Video Systems, Inc.
From 1992 till 1998 Mr. Smuda was a Vice President of Private Equity Partnership, LLP. and Spenser Trask Securities, Inc., he worked with Philip B. Smith, a Founder and Managing Director.
Mr. Smuda had pursued a scientific career and was an IRTA Fellow at the laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology ( NIDDK) at National Institutes of Health and a National Research Council Fellow at Naval Research Laboratory prior to graduating from Columbia Business School.
Mr. Smuda holds an MBA in Finance and Management from Columbia University as well as PH. D. in Biochemistry from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.
